Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Yeah, but there's little that Messi does hat you dont see on TV tbh. He tends to stick to his wing when its going well and drift and come looking for the ball when it doesnt (this is based on Chelsea away, Villareal away and Valencia home (6-0 :D ). TV captures Messi all the time as he tends to be the main focus.

This is another reason i believe that Messi is nowhere near Ronaldinho level.

ive yet to see ronaldinho live, he was injured when i last saw brazil and barca, so i'm eagerly waiting a chance to see him, maybe for brazil

Shouldn't be too hard seeing as Brazil play half their games in London...

this is the point ive been trying to make, yes i would say he was a great player, but i wouldnt feel i was in a position to say he was or is one of the best ever, or say he's over-rated(i'm not saying that by the way), but if i saw him live (if) maybe he'd leave me with a great memory, so when someone mentioned his name in the future, i could tell them about

p.s. dagunners this thread is not a dig at you(i feel you may think it is), i was actually gonna post it on flaks forum yesterday but my pc cocked it up, its a responce to all the crap you read on the sky sports forum about players being over-rated

It has resulted in good discussion :)

Ronaldinho is a footballing legend and I don't need to see him live to make that judgment :)

Oh no, I am not taking it as a dig at all. It is an interesting point of view. I agree with the part about off the ball movement being appreciated more if you see a game live, but I do feel watching a player many times on TV is enough to form an opinion about him.

Would like to see how he plays with Kaka. They never played well together whenever I saw them for Brazil. He is taking shirt #80 for his year of birth...

whats your view on this 39th game mate, it would be a good way of letting fans like yourself see the prem live, because i think america would be a main host of games if the prem get it passed

If Arsenal came over I would definatley go to a game. I would probably also go to a game regardless of teams in Chicago.

But sometime within the next 4 years I willl most likely study abroad in England. Would try to go see an Arsenal match or two...

Ridiculous proposal IMO. I'm not one for change, especially when nothing needs changing.

I think its not bad, i just dont see why they cant just have one extra game with a totally random draw, rather than the top four teams being separated.

The only problem is that titles and relegation battles can be won and lost on the 39th game. Which i dont think can really be worked around. The idea isnt bad though in principle...
