how can fans either critisize or praise players unless theyve seen them play live?, watching on tv is totally different to being at a live game, the camera only picks up what the tv company want you to see, you never see the whole picture, the running off the ball, the constant movement, etc, so my advice shut your mouths about players youve never actually seen play live

I see around 8 live games per season. Off-the-ball movement is the only thing it allows you to analyse that TV doesn't. TV also offers replays which are useful too.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

I think saying that I cannoth judge a player based on what I see on TV is absolute RUBBISH.

Diego is a great poster but this imo is his worst post to date. Pundits like Matt Le Tissier never see the likes of Fabregas/Gerrard live but that doesn't make their opinion worthless.

i find that you can't appreciate a player unless you see him live, you watch the game and can see the speed of the play and how its hard for players to see things going on around them, when players like rooney and gerrard get critisized it drives me crazy, watch these players and see how much work they put into their game, i wonder how many that critisize have even kicked a ball competitively

pundits get to go to live games mate on a regular basis, so to say they don't see them live is not true

The game appears much slower on TV, I know. Like I said, I attend approx. 8 games a season.

I play football 4 times a week Diego. 2 training sessions, a match and a casual kick-about on Sundays.

yet you consider yourself able to judge a great player like steve gerrard, without seeing everything he puts into the games, i'm sure if he played for arsenal he'd be world class
