Not to take anything away from the result, but Sporting have only just got back into pre-season and therefore will have lacked fitness. This could be a reason for the late goals...and the weakened team.

But still, "you can only beat what's in front of you" as they say.

Reid should be dropped, not Whitehead, he's a fat sack of crap.

I think 14th for Sunderland this season would be good for Sunderland with the new Spurs players. Top 10 is acheivable though am im sure that's where Keane will be aiming.

Andy Reid is the best passer at Sunderland.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Reid should be dropped? :curse:

We have only been back in pre season a week...Scoring two goals in the last 5 minutes is typical Sunderland, maybe a little to do with fitness, but if you watched us last season then you should of known.

No, Reid creates everything in the middle of the park. Whitehead is a handy player but like the majority, has his moments. Both coudld still play and be rotated around Tainio if he joins. At this moment though Reid is probably our best player and cannot be dropped. He is big but can clearly beat a man and his fitness isn't bad at all. He ran a big distance to score a 12 yard volley against WHU, in the 96th minute!
