Yep. Even VDV turned them down, and he is an average player.

I dont think they will be as good as people are hyping them up to be. The CBs are sicknoted and there fullbacks cant defend.

They never had problems scoring.

Yep.

Defensively they are poor, but so were United in '99. I feel Spurs will succeed next season, Modric is a massive signing :cooldude:

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

I think Pompey are going to be very dangerous this season. I think they will be this seasons Everton. Also, Villa look set to struggle unless MON can get some good faces in.

Pompey could put this out next season. Looks great to me:

James

Johnson Distin Campbell Heridersson

SWP Muntari Diarra Kranjcar

Crouch Defoe

You're right DaG, Pompey will be the team to watch out for next season. The existing squad will have had a massive boost with the FA Cup win, and with the right mentality, they can surprise a few teams next year.

The only hiccup I see for Pompey is that if they start using Crouch as a battering-ram. Being too direct could haunt them , and we have seen teams do that with Crouch up front.

As far as Spurs go, I thought they were way too ambitious when they were rumoured to be after Dos Santos and Modric. But they got the two players, and could be great signings, both of them.
I don't think Etoo and Villa will be too tempted to join them, as unlike the pair mentioned earlier, they do not have age on their sides and would like to join a team playing CL football regularly.
When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.

DaG did well with Spurs but his Pompey prediction was terrible...United played Pompey 3 times before the PL even kicked off and I knew they'd struggle, they were pathetic.

As for my predictions on Spurs, not top 6, but top 8? and CC finalists...I've done well.

I only realised halfway down that this was started last season. Because Scholes was being a sillybilly overrating Spurs just like he is now.

Top 6 and a run in the cups...hmm, top 8, CC finalists and beaten by United in the FA Cup. Class prediction, unlike your idiotic Chelsea prediciton :D

Despite finishing 8th they were never in any danger of coming close to 6th right from the get go. And the Carling Cup is rubbish.

What was my Chelsea prediction? I remember saying halfway during the season that they could drop out the topr four but at that point i wasn't expecting Scolari to get sacked soon afterwards.

DaG was unlucky with Pompey, he wasn't to know they'd have lost their manager, Defoe, Diarra and Muntari by January - as well as being plagued by Adams' incompetance.

Winner.

Talking of Adams, how about the wealth of clowns on SS wanting him to replace Wenger early last season?
