I do, I will point out though that Rooney created and scored more last season than Cole has in the last 3.

Of course Rooney should be scoring more. But I just think he provides more to overall play with his passing, creativity, and taking players on.

Those are the exact aspect at which I feel Rooney is better than Cole.

Rooney is very good and too good to leave out of the England set-up (he will continue improving), but he is definitely more frustrating than Cole.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Rooney is frustrating at times, yes.
But I always thought that England need someone to grab the game by the neck, and dictate terms. Rooney is not your regular CF and is very much capable of doing that.
His passing, vision, and link-up play is already very good, and will improve.
He would be among the first names on the team-sheet I think.

Back to the topic, I think Young and Agbonlahor both deserve more chances, and if the team needs a good, steady passer in centre midfield, Carrick might be worth a shot, though with Gerrard, Lampard, Barry, and Hargreaves I can't see him getting too many chances.

Gerrard and Lamps aint good enough in the middle of the park for international football. I think they have proven this.

Lampard I agree. But i think Gerrard and Barry will be the preferred pairing for England, because Hargeraves-Barry will be too defensive and will not provide support for the strikers.
I hate Gerrard, of course, but right now, can't see him being left out of the England set-up.

MUFC, Michael Johnson needs to be starting in the middle.

But is it likely to happen ? With the mockery that is the English managerial position, and the media frenzy surrounding it, leaving out the captain of a top 4 side for a young player from a mid-table club is not the most media friendly step, and we all know that is what all managers consider now.
