Barcelona of 08/09 won more trophies than the side of 10/11 but the 10/11 side were when they were at their best. |

Chelsea 04/05 better than both. The Invincibles were better than that 99 side, didn't really rate them that highly. |

Don't change the subject Ant and Goonie! Straight Arsenal vs United. The treble or going unbeaten. |

To anyone that says going unbeaten is better than winning a treble, if you could change the future, would you rather your team go unbeaten and win the league, or win a treble? Guarantee you'd all say treble. |

I didn't try and change the subject I was offering an example of where trophies doesn't mean you were better. |

When they say it's better they can mean the achievement and still rather win the treble. If you look at the Barcelona and Bayern treble winning sides of recent years and and the dominance they have displayed at times it says something about the difficulty of going unbeaten that neither managed it. This question from you also wouldn't answer which team was better. |

This is a different question than which is the most impressive. I'd rather a treble because there is more trophies but it doesn't mean it's more impressive or a better achievement. Edited by Goonie, Feb 20 2015, 03:27 PM.

The treble, for me. To be able to remain victorious in two knockout competitions whilst still fighting off the league champions in Arsenal is quite incredible. Our cup runs were extremely difficult as well, considering we had to get past Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in the FA Cup run and then Bayern and Barcelona in our group stage, followed by Inter, Juventus and Bayern again. We overcame a lot of big sides on a consistent basis. When you consider how hard it is to win the Champions League alone, something that Arsenal never have done, to mop up domestically as well in my opinion is a better achievement. You've also got to consider that Arsenal side were very aware of their record and became very protective over it as it went on, racking up a lot of draws, plus United and Chelsea have both finished on higher totals previously. Obviously, it's an amazing achievement as nobody has done it since, but being so consistent against the best teams in the world over several competitions is better in my eyes. |

I can't remember every draw but was it us protecting the record or us coming back in games and showing a refusal to lose? We weren't protecting it all that well throwing a 2-0 lead away at Spurs. It's funny to think that United and Arsenal both had a missed/saved penalty which could have seen the other fail to achieve one of the two best achievements of the PL era.
