Settle something for us will you, TH reckons RvP is/was a better player than Ibra.

Ibra, who has been the focal point of several teams over the years, brought them success and has brought an edge to every team he's been in. At some point reached worldwide recognition as the best number 9 in the world, something RvP again has never done. RvP who's led a team to glory once has had a nothing career considering how big of a player he was. Ibra, who has scored goals RvP would only dream of, was always faster, and stronger than RvP, better vision as he could spot any goal with a pass or a shot, mind you he would shoot from anywhere and still score it.

TH has the excuse that RvP was injured a lot. So point Ibra, not made out of dull tinfoil. What exactly has RvP done that was better than Ibra?

TH's argument was also RvP had better link up play, fine I'll give him that, more because Ibra was more of a pure #9 than most. End of the day Ibra > RvP.

Discuss.

RVP technically better, better link up play, more creative, superior vision AND MOST IMPORTANTLY MORE PROLIFIC. Don't make me fetch up the Ibra stats, never hit 30+ until Ligue 1 LOL, La Liga flop, Seria A another weak league where he abused and still fell off every 2nd season at each of his clubs. European bottler like RVP so both are equal there. RVP 12/13 and 11/12 is better than anything he has done and was at a much higher level. RVP>>Zlatan

Lmfao don't use La Liga flop as an excuse please, RvP would never of made that Barca team's bench let alone try and displace Messi.

You clearly haven't paid notice to RVP, his playmaking abilities as one of the greatest 9.5s ever would absolutely complement Messi, similar role to Benzema has for Madrid.

At the end of the day, van Persie has two, world class seasons under his belt in an elite league. Ibra has 0. In that time, I believe van Persie probably was the best #9 in the world, so I'd say it'd be wrong to claim that as something he hasn't achieved either.

Well that's not true is it, Serie A 2009, it's why Barca bought him for that much, and had WC seasons at Milan, that fell apart when he left. Don't tell me your only definition of an elite League is the PL and La Liga? Italians won the CLs twice between 06-10, one more than England did.

09? which one 08/09 or 09/10? because 08/09 he was playing for inter and had 2 goals all season, 09/10 he got 6 goals in 19 apps for Barca.

06-10 lmfao, what a convenient time frame. Why not use 04-12, which is his complete time in Italy (with Barcelona in between), anything to do with English teams winning more CLs and not fitting with your argument? How many of these CL wins was Ibrahimovic a part of? In 06-07, didn't Milan start the season on -8 and Juventus completely relegated? Did Milans team start to deteriorate from that point onwards? It became a one sided league, until Inter capitulated post-Mourinho, Milan had one more season of glory which was arguably Ibras best and then Juve began to dominate again. No way can Serie A be compared to La Liga and the PL post Calciopoli scandal.

He wasn't trying to displace Messi. I've seen Messi criticised for moaning and making Pep play him as a false 9 but it's not true. Messi, Pep etc.... Were pissed off that he was lazy and the amount of running he did diminished as the season went on and that's when Pep moved Messi there. It shows a pathetic mentality to say when you join that this style of football is what every player wants to be a part of but when it comes down to it you complain and act like a lazy bitch because everyone else isn't doing your running for you. If it's the football that everyone wants to be a part of then fucking adjust to it you cock. Having said that his first half of the season including his Clasico winner was massively important to Barca winning the title.

Lol, the lad couldn't even cement a place in one of the greatest attacking units of all time despite being a marquee signing and despite playing in a league known for its below-par defending.

Lad might give it the big bollocks but I don't rate him. Dominated at Inter in a weak league, flopped at Barca, dominated at Milan in a weak league and dominates PSG in, yet again, another weak league. If he had any love for the game/wanted to test himself, he'd have moved to the Premier League by now but he doesn't have any bollocks.

It's below-par defending which is defintely as good as the defending in the Premiership.

I firmly believe you think that's true. You don't watch the league so your main source of knowledge will be the idiots in this country who believe that.
