Gareth Bale as well back in 2010!

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

United won't keep converting chances at the rate they are now, their rate is very high atm. If I were a United fan I'd be thrilled more about getting full points out of average performances, not talking about competing for the title. They are improving and are now in an excellent position to get back into the CL, but when you don't create a ton of chances and aren't great defensively, you're not an elite team. United are as far away from Chelsea as Arsenal are.

They've conceded three in their last six games and have only conceded three more than City and four more than Chelsea have all season. At the moment it's their defence that's winning the points.

Or a combination of good fortune, poor finishing and great goalkeeping some may say.

So it's possible for us to lose our conversion rate, yet it's inconceivable that we could make more chances? At the end of the day, we have world class finishers that score when they get the opportunity. That's not coincidence, that's the benefit of having the best in the business. If we create clear cut chances for Rooney and van Persie they will put them away as they've been showing.

No, we aren't playing well, but we're still missing players, we don't even have any full backs ffs. You said that United won the race to secured a top 4 spot by signing Di Maria and Falcao, but the former has been out last few games and did nothing the couple before, and the latter is yet to get a run in the side.

I think it would be very naive to think the only way United can go is downhill, when there's still so many areas we could potentially improve.

United can absolutely improve in other areas, get players back, etc. All I'm saying is that they are 8th in chances created and are a work in progress defensively and in midfield, so if performances stay the same the results will come back to earth.
