Chelsea are bigger.
No they're not. Man United and Liverpool are the two biggest clubs in the country. People like you, Scholes and Cule seem to believe football started in 2003. It's a ridiculous statement.
Recent times are more important than 50 years ago though in determining the size of a club.

Chelsea and Liverpool both have CL football next year and even with the same finances/offers, Chelsea would still have more pulling power.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

The whole package has to be taken into consideration.

Pulling power doesn't equal size of club either. There are many PL sides not as big as Leeds who would attract players ahead of them.

That's because Leeds are in the Championship, gorm.

Which would equate to recent times and the team that has done poorly in recent times is still the bigger club. It's about playing at which club you're most likely to be successful. Lol, to call me gorm after making such a thick comment.

Football is about winning and Chelsea are more likely to win trophies than Liverpool but that doesn't mean they're a bigger club. I bet a player given the choice right now would join Man City over United. Are City bigger than United?

Ronaldo would have wanted to leave London too.
Apparently he doesn't like London, no idea why.

Goon, spot on, as per.

It's why I'd say Arsenal are a bigger club than Chelsea and on par with Liverpool. Do you reckon Chelsea or City would hang on to the likes of Koscielny/Ramsey/Chamberlain/Oezil if they continued to finish 4th with no trophies? Or hang onto the likes of Henry/van Persie/Fabregas for 1-2 years more than they should have?

Highly doubt it. Both are shit clubs.

Liverpool finished above Chelsea this year, how does that make Chelsea more likely to win trophies if both clubs are given the same financial backing???

Chelsea performed better in each cup competition than Liverpool did and only finished 2 points behind them in the league despite having played 10+ more games. Liverpool's season was a fluke and won't be repeated. Everton finished above United this season so next season does this make Everton more likely to win something or break into the top 4? Having the same financial backing doesn't change the fact that Chelsea have a better squad and manager.

Moreno and Lallana are ours, as is the PL next season. Portuguese reports also claim we've overtaken UTD as faves to sign Carvalho

Manchester City plan to reward keeper Joe Hart and a number of his Premier League-winning team-mates with new contracts this summer.

Hart, whose current deal has two years remaining, helped City win a second Premier League title in three seasons last weekend, responding well to being left out of the first team following a series of high profile errors earlier in the season.

The club is also expected to step-up the search for a new back-up to Hart, with his deputy Costel Pantilimon set to leave the club this summer as he seeks regular first-team football.

Romania international Pantilimon proved his worth to City this season with 18 first team appearances - their key target is Argentinian Willy Caballero, who played under Manuel Pelligrini at Malaga.

The champions are aiming to do their transfer business this summer as quickly as possible and hope to secure their targets prior to the World Cup, and they are poised to offer new contracts to several of the star performers who helped secure two domestic trophies.

England midfielder James Milner will be offered terms to extend his four-year stay at City and Samir Nasri, who scored a vital goal in the final day win over West Ham United but was left out of the French World Cup squad, is also expected to commit his future to the club.

Striker Edin Dzeko is another whose future with the club could be sorted - he hit five goals in his last four appearances of the season to take his overall tally to 28 - and there is also expected to be a new contract for the versatile Aleksandar Kolarov.

Thought they'd do this. Get their players on a load of newer contracts. If they pay a lower basic wage, but put in massive appearance fees for PL matches and none for CL matches then they can get round their restrictions.

Emre Can is close to signing for us according to twitter ITK's, would fit what Brendan is after, technically good footballers who are tactically versatile

It's the Soriano way, he did exactly the same at Barca. It's not an FFP measure but it might help, it might not.
