For foreign players, Chelsea are probably the most attractive club in the country at the moment. No-one else combines history, CL pedigree, world class location and current potential to win trophies in the way they do.

Let's face it, there is not one genuine footballing reason you'd leave Atletico for Chelsea right now. He's obviously going for the money.

Disagree. He knows that 1) he (and Diego) is the main reason they are where they are; 2) Atletí have little money to continue at the top; 3) Barca and Real will probably be stronger next season; 4) Simeone will probably leave within a season; 5) PL is a much better league.

Getting out at the right time.

I agree they're the most attractive prospect for no reason other than the possibility of trophies but that doesn't mean they're a bigger club.

Chelsea are bigger.
No they're not. Man United and Liverpool are the two biggest clubs in the country. People like you, Scholes and Cule seem to believe football started in 2003. It's a ridiculous statement.
Nah mate, 1992.

Historically speaking Liverpool and United and a lot bigger than any other clubs, but foreigners don't care about that. They want to know if they'll have a chance of reaching multiple cup finals, and have a beastly salary on par with the elites of the world. Both of which Chelsea provide.
I personally wouldn't give two shits about a clubs history when weighing up who to sign for. It's all about winning and getting paid.

My point was never about from the view of a potential signing but simply how big a club is and Liverpool and United are the two biggest.

They can't view like that either because the likes of Fulham etc... Who they say is a shit club would have been until this season a more attractive prospect than the likes of Leeds, Nottingham Forrest that they would class as a good club.

No I'm not telling you that. You believe that determines the size of a club which is delusional. What do you think the size of a club is judged on? Success? Recent success? Fan appeal? Value of the club? When taking all into consideration Liverpool are a bigger club.

You can't ponder away from the top of English football for over 20 years and be considered bigger than the ones that are there.

I honestly think the location of Manchester is a huge hindrance for United. Not so much for City cos' they can make up for it by offering extra dosh.

Looked like a class city when I went. Been massively refurbished over the last 15 years apparently.

Also, any foreign player isn't exactly going to be put off; they must know it can't be that bad a place if the likes of RVP, Mata, Touré, De Gea, Silva, Aguero were prepared to move there when they must have had other offers.

It is a class city but it's not well known outside of the UK.

? The City boys are playing there because of money and the United boys are there because it's Manchester United + trophies.

Villa didn't want to move to Manchester and I can guarantee a whole lot of Latinos wouldn't wanna join Manchester, one of Ronaldo's reasons for leaving United was Manchester.
