I'm really happy for him. I remember him on goals on sunday last season and he couldn't help but refer to Liverpool as "us" or "we".

I fucking hate these dry cunts who don't put in a transfer request. Expect life to be given to them on a plate, pathetic. I expect better from Lallana, he really has changed now that he's won an England cap.

Winner.

I've heard/seen of clauses in contracts where if a player puts in a transfer request then they are penalised in one way or another.

Yeah exactly, scared about losing a bit of money. If you really want to move then you have to sacrifice something. People like Lallana want to have their cake and eat it.

According to the Secret Footballer, when you transfer to a different club, you are entitled to have the rest of your contract paid up in full. If you put in a transfer request you lose the right to be paid that money.

They shouldn't get it either way IMO. That'll solve this farcical transfer request business. If you want all the money your contract promises, play for the full length of the contract. It works both ways. The club will then pay for exactly what they got, and the player will get paid for exactly what he put in.

If you're sacked outright, then fair enough, you're due money because the club broke the contract. But the fact that players want the rest of the money - even though they're likely leaving for a club that will pay better - is disgusting. If they're not leaving for better pay then they have the choice to stay put and 'earn' the big bucks, or go somewhere else and get paid less for playing a game you apparently love.

It's only official when they sign contracts, not replica shirts.
