On paper, Jovetic is Aguero back-up, Negredo is Dzeko back-up. Easy stuff, mate. The reality is that if Aguero was missing we'd sooner start Silva as #10 with Dzeko in front.

It was the Negredo and Dzeko one which confused me. Negredo was first choice for the majority.

What zeezoo is saying is pretty much irrelevant considering only one of those teams scored the most goals in the league last season and Lambert will only add to that

Oi zz how does 7th place taste? How does 3-0 in your own backyard taste?

Wonder who will take the penalties now

Lol fucking hell. Another clueless person wading in with shit. He will be like what Bellamy was for us , obviously a different kind if player but a good player to have in your squad
What mate? It's a shit signing. A few mates have said it's a good signing but it really isn't, not if Liverpool are serious about becoming a force in the PL again. You wouldn't see City or Chelsea signing Lambert, and those are the two sides that everyone else is trying catch. Great signing if you are looking to consolidate a top 5 finish but that's not what you guys reckon you are about

Arsene Wenger signs a new 3 year contract. Fantastic news. That's our first big signing of the season done and dusted.

Hopefully all the no mark clueless Gooners will go and support Spurs now. Come on your Gunners!

True true...

Imagine Suarez leaving next year, and Liverpool have to search for a replacement.... They'll be offering a big fee, but the incoming guy is going to be potentially playing in a squad that doesn't possess too many World class players.

Henderson/Coutinho/Sterling/Sturridge/Allen, all good and decent on their day, but none have that WC Aura that will entice an already made world class player to join the ranks.

Not to mention they'll be seeing Suarez leaving, and Gerrard ageing.

Just for a giggle I'd love someone to dig out posts from Liverpool fans when Dalglish spunked 35mil on Carroll and see if they were chatting shit then just like they are now

And its not bad having 3 of the top 8 in the PL is it at your club, I really dont get peoples negative retardedness about this transfer, its the area of the pitch we least needed to sign someone, he is the first and probably lowest profile signing we will be making this summer, he is better than the backup strikers we currently have, he is cheap, he supports liverpool and will be great to have around the club and in the squad and there is noone that is guarenteed to be better than him less than 10 million that would be happy to sit on our bench most weeks, its as much as a no brainer as Arsenal signing Vela, it just makes sense, anyone who thinks otherwise should just stfu and go post somewhere else

£9M is the fee. Pretty shit for someone who will be 33 at the end of the season.

Get a good 2 years out of him for £9M? Rape IMO. And he's hardly going to get much of a look in if Borini is still at the club.

Like I said, could have spent a little more in and around £15M on an emerging C./S.American talent. Immobile went for £15M ffs.

We dont have 15 million to spend on a striker this season cause we will be spending 95% of our budget on our midfield and defence , areas of the pitch we actually could do with improving our first XI
