Liverpool have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Emre Can & appear to be closing in on a ÂŁ12m deal for the Germany U-21 international.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Took me a while to work out what he was trying to say. I thought he was saying they'd achieved something despite Begovic and was trying for about 30 seconds to work out what he was referring to :hysterics:

Winner.

Tom Ince is flying to Milan for talks over a move to Inter. Blatantly gonna fail but credit to him for giving it a go.

I know it will diminish our league but I really want to see some top english players playing in foreign leagues.

how will it diminish our league? gives more english players the chance to play for bigger clubs , Ince wouldnt get in any of the teams that are in Europe in the English league , (not entirely sure if Inter are in Europe next year but still)

Its good for the player, hence why I want it to happen more often. I think its fairly obvious why having top players leave the country is bad for the PL.

It'll be interesting to see if there's more interest from European clubs of young English players. It's shambolic how few go abroad compared to in other top nations like Spain, France, Italy, etc.. Lallana is a nifty little player though, the kind that would easily fit into a more continental side, and there's a few more in the next generation of English players.

There are pros and cons to players going abroad but ultimately, if European sides start to become more interested it'll show that there's progress in the youth development which is the basis for true footballing success in any nation.

Mitroglou, a proven goal-scorer in the CL, happily joined a side at the bottom of the EPL in January. Nothing to worry about with our league, it'll be the biggest & best for years to come.
